This room is inspired by the famous Pop Art artist Roy Lichtenstein, which is a leading figure in the new art movement. His work defined the basic premise of pop art better than any other through parody. Favoring the old-fashioned comic strip as subject matter, Lichtenstein produced hard-edged, precise compositions that documented while it parodied often in a tongue-in-cheek humorous manner. His work was heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style.
The room is in white and green color, on the green wall up to the bed you can find the most famous Roy’s paints: Whaam. On the right wall you can find a short description of the artwork and of Jasper John’s life. The furniture are in walnut, white and green. The Roy’s room overlooks on a calm internal courtyard and has a thick window glass to avoid any rumors from outside.
